Wotton looked unstoppable in the first half when David Jackson opened the scoring for Rovers. Simon Jackson made it 2-0 five minutes later, and after 15 minutes Wotton were 3-0 up with a well taken effort from Mike Walker. Hardwicke pulled one back when the Wotton defence were ball watching, but on the half hour the young goal machine, Simon Jackson had made it 4-1 to Wotton. But what a different second half! The Wotton side became unsettled due to injuries, and Hardwicke scored two quick goals in five minutes making it 4-3, Hardwicke continued to pressurise the Wotton goal, and at this period wanted the points more. In the closing minutes they got their reward and equalised to make it 4-4. Disappointing result for the Wotton management, after leading 4-1.

Wotton got of to a poor start to this game and found themselves 1-0 down after two minutes from a corner, after some sloppy defending. However, they fought back to make things all square on 35 minutes, with a well-taken goal from Simon Jackson. Early in the second half Wotton had more of the play, but just could not score. On the hour Wotton went 2-1 down, after the midfield cheaply lost possession, in front of their own defence. Wotton showed some character and continued to battle, and were rewarded in the 70th minute, when Simon Jackson scored his second of the match, making it 2-2.Wotton continued to pressurise the Minchinhampton goal late in the second half and in the 80th minute Matt Cook scored with a powerful drive from the edge of the penalty box making the final score 3-2 to Wotton. After a poor start to the season, this was a well-earned 3 points for this young Wotton side.
