Under 12 Team Match Reports

Tetbury U12s 2 – 0 Wotton Rovers U12s

Sunday 18 September 2005

Wotton’s away fixture against Tetbury proved their toughest of the season so far. The home team showed what they were capable of early on with a powerful shot that hit the top post. Although there was action at both ends, Tetbury were the better organised team and had several shots at goal. But a scrambling Rovers defence maintained a clean sheet until moments before the break when Tetbury’s persitent attack paid off ad they created the space to score.Bennett made the best attempt for Wotton early in the second half when he caught the post. Against such strong opposition, the best performances for Rovers were demanded of the midfield and defence. Watkins, Lotinger and Bennett had good games and Fuller was excellent. Despite this, Tetbury scored again with just a few minutes left to play.In all a fair result reflecting the quality of Tetbury’s team play.

Wotton Rovers U12s 10 - 0 Ebley U12s

Sunday 11 September 2005

Another great home match result for Wotton who have found their form early this season.

Bennett charged through the Ebley defence for a first goal on 10 minutes but the visitors played hard and had speed in attack, demanding strong defensive action from Fuller, Burrows and Kingston. The Rovers were denied further chances until Spiers scored twice in quick succession just before the break.

Lotinga set the pace in the second half, scoring within minutes of play resuming. Wotton were then well into their momentum. Lee took the ball up the wing to create a fifth goal, followed by Luffman who lobbed one into the top of the net. Rovers had the monopoly on possession in the final minutes of the match and managed a further four goals. It might have been more; Whittaker made several good attempts but couldn’t defeat the Ebley goalie.
