Wotton travelled to Almondsbury with a very depleted team with the bare minimum of 6 players.
Almondsbury had the best of the early stages of the first half, but failed to score thanks to some fine defending by Lauren Banister, Jess Gibbs and Steph Hull. Wottons new goal keeper April Reeves made some excellent saves frustrating the home side strong attack. Lauren Jackson gave Wotton the lead when she coolly nut megged the Almondsbury keeper. After getting studded in the face Lauren Bartlett battled hard passing the ball though to Lauren Jackson who netted her second goal of the day.
Almondsbury started the second half as the stronger team pulling back an early goal. Despite breaking her wrist whilst making a great save, Wotton keeper April Reeves kept Wotton in the game. Almondsbury were awarded a controversial penalty which they scored from. With Almondsbury able to rotate their players they ended the game the stronger team.The team sends its best wishes to player of the match April Reeves and hope she recovers from her broken wrist quickly.

Wotton continued their good start to the season with a well deserved win over a strong Winterbourne side. Without a regular goal keeper, Rachael Dove kept goal in the first half, making some fine saves.The well drilled defence of Lauren Banister and Steph Hull kept the opposition attack at bay. Megan Harrison, Jess Gibbs and Emma Fisher controlled the midfield. At half time with the score at 0-0 Lauren Barlett took over the goal keeping duties, also making some fine saves. Wotton kept the pressure on and a well taken corner by Megan Harrison was volleyed home by Lauren Jackson. With continued pressure and some fine passing moves from player of the match Jess Gibbs set up Lauren Jackson for her second goal of the afternoon. Credit must go to the squad of Wotton for a good all round performance.

Wotton’s good start to the season continued with a well hard fought victory over Broadbury Park. Wotton’s strong defence of Steph Hull and Lauren Banister kept Broadbury out of the game. After dominating the early encounters Wotton finally scored with a well-taken goal by Lauren Jackson, who keeps up her record of scoring in every game this season. Jess Gibbs and Lauren Bartlett played well with many shots on target but were kept out by some fine saves by the Broadbury keeper.In the second half with Racheal Dove and Megan Harrison linking well, a second goal was on the cards. With Emma Fisher having some good chances it was left to Elly Dove to secure the victory with a well taken individual goal. Wotton are still looking for a regular goalkeeper to strengthen their squad. Any one interested please come along to training KLB 615 Friday evenings.

Wotton visited last season champions and after a very hard fought encounter Wotton came away with a lot of credit. The first half was well balanced with Avon Athletic taking an early lead, which was made level by a well-taken individual goal from Kirsty Brown. Wotton’s defence of, man of the match Steph Hull and Emma Fisher didn't give the Avon Athletic attack any room to create many chances. Without a regular goalkeeper Lauren Bannister made some good saves in the first half. Megan Harrison again battled hard in the midfield supported well by Racheal Dove. Another well-taken goal by Lauren Jackson kept Wotton in touch. But with a flurry of late goals the Avon Athletic team came out on top. An excellent all round team performance from Wotton was not reflected in the final score.

Wotton girls got off to an excellent start in the Bristol Girls league, with a 3-1 victory over Southmead. The Wotton defence of Lauren Bannister and Steph Hull, were very strong thoughout with great support from the captain Megan Harrison, who battled hard as ever in the midfeild.
Kirsty Brown gave Wotton an early second half lead givng the team a much deserved lead . Elly Dove in her new role as goal keeper kept Wotton in the game throughout with some great saves. Two well taken "tap ins" from Lauren Jackson brought the score to 3-1. With rolling subs the team were well supported by Jess Gibbs and debutants Lauren Bartlett and Rachel Dove. This week brings an away fixture against Avon Athletic.
